Luke 22:37b For the things concerning me have an end.
The Boy Reciter
You’d scarce expect one of my age
To speak in public on a stage,
And if I chance to fall below
Demosthenes and Cicero,
Don’t view me with a critic’s eye,
But pass my imperfections by.
Large streams from little fountains flow,
Tall oaks from little acorns grow;
And though now I am small and young,
Of judgment weak and feeble tongue,
Yet all great, learned men like me
Once learned to read their ABC.
But why may not Columbia’s soil
Rear great men as Britain’s Isle,
Exceed what Greece and Rome have done
Or any land beneath the sun?
Mayn’t Massachusetts boast a great
As any sister state?
Or where’s the town, go far or near,
That does not find a rival here?
Or where’s the boy but three feet high
Who’s made improvement more than I?
These thoughts inspire my youthful mind
To be the greatest of mankind;
Great, not like Caesar, stained with blood,
But only as great as I am good!
As I grew up, in my little corner of the Universe and neighborhood of the United States of America, after the biggest snow storm in history to ever hit the east coast, I came into my own, so to speak, as I reached the age of accountability in the Spring of 1978. I tasted my first beer, which I hated, took my first ride on the back of a Harley Davidson motorcycle, and started to branch out and form a posse of friends in the ‘hood, venturing out on my own more and more each day, a little further each time, growing bolder and braver as I was getting to know everyone in the ‘hood, as far as could matter to a eight year old lad with a winsome demeanor and pure conscience and intention.
We were all family – the entire neighborhood and everyone knew everyone else and their business. No one had much as far as worldly possessions, riches or property goes, but all enjoyed having enough and Dayenu! It was more than enough for all of our community to enjoy and no one really lacked or wanted more than we had – 13 channels on a television we rarely watched, clean water to drink from the faucet of our sink or spout of the garden/yard hose, refrigerators not always full but never lacking something to offer , and/or pantry space with at least some bread to eat; and G-d forbid, if all were bare, it were only a matter of time, hours or at most a day, before there would be a restocking of necessities humble and wisdom proved for three children with invading armies of friends, schoolmates and comrades of every color, culture, creed and hue. Mum and Dad, though divorced and estranged, each worked constantly to support the home and family unit though it meant we three children, my two sisters and I were often home alone – we were never much afraid nor much missed and often to be found out terrorizing the ‘hood with our own childish zeal and imaginations run wild. We could run safely in the seldom trafficked streets, and play outside from sun up to sun down or when the ‘street lights came on’ as one of my friends dad’s had made a rule for their family. I was often the last to go home from play, in the dark, to a mostly dark house to wait for our Mum to get home, always a bit later than she planned or promised, sometimes with a date that would infuriate me, but most often alone, tired from a long day’s work in social business and outreach programs, mostly State run, which she later abandoned to study for a master’s degree from Harvard University where she met her second husband, who was also her teacher and a wonderful ex-soldier (US Army) and scholar in his own right who I grew rather fond of and close to in his last days with us as a family, he was Japanese and had experienced a lot in his relatively short life in America from growing up and working on a stranger’s farm, to US Army service, to educational endeavors many, ending with years as a counselor and educator at Harvard. What stands out as peculiar in my memory of him was the way he greeted the Elders of the LDS Church when they came to visit and convince me to be baptized. He was angry that he felt ‘lost’ instead of saved, though growing up on a farm in Western USA, he had encountered a lot of Mormon believers in the community and town (Pocatello, Idaho) where he grew up, he felt they never reached out to strangers or non-white Americans,. which proved to be a false notion, but nevertheless, I was surprised to find him downcast at the thought of missing the opportunity to be ‘saved’ himself. He could be very bigoted and proud in his own right, and was a very difficult person to understand and get close to, and I felt honored to be among the few who did know him better than most I thought. I am sure he may be saved somehow during the span of existence that is the here after, here after, there after…but I’ll leave doctrine thesis for another entry.
I can only recall one evening when my real Dad (who was also an educator, English Master at a private school in Cambridge, MA) was there, visiting and we all ate dinner at the table like a family instead of our usual routine of every man/child for himself, eat where you want, when you wanted, in front of the TV or whatever.
Even though my dad hit me with a backhand when I refused to eat my spinach- it was the greatest feeling just to have him there and be like a ‘normal family’.
Elsewise, it was typical chaos and every member for themselves, as I say, but I could not blame my Mum who was usually too tired to do much more than heat something up and sit at the kitchen table, smoking cigarettes, talking on the phone or whatever, until it was time to send us off to bed. This was also pretty random and she rarely put us directly into bed but would send us off with a kiss goodnight to care for ourselves. We were trustworthy and obedient at that age and understood why she was always tired and not to be overmuch bothered.
We were known as (My Mum’s first name)’s kids to most of the clans in the ‘hood, and no one much spoke or made mention of our dad’s absence, except that all the kids in the neighborhood loved him for his charm and activity in our sports programs/teams which he volunteered to coach on weekend’s and during the week whenever he could find time- mostly because he would often take the entire team with their parents out to dinner after games, for pizza and ice cream or something. He was a genuine man who genuinely loved all and cared little for recognition for his kindnesses; for which humility he was honored all the more.
My Mum, by contrast, had to do very little to win people over- she was just flawlessly beautiful and as graceful as a woman could be, who for similar humble reasons kept most of her true gifts hidden; for she, like my Dad cared very little for recognition and praise, though she did become a den mother for a year to my cub scout’s troop.
She lived her life the way she pleased and perhaps too defiantly for my tastes; eschewing the norm and upsetting the traditional, always seeking spiritual enlightenment in foreign cultures which I never understood and came to loathe about her at the last. I felt like she slighted her own people and ethnic background, having little or no regard for her own roots and ethnic identity. I think she had a bit or a lot of self-loathing and guilt by association to her own race and family; a family she didn’t quite fit into, being an adopted child through a Catholic outreach program to adoptive parents and orphaned children. But I thought her path inappropriate and unenlightened in understanding which led her astray in every way and any direction but the Right One. I was ashamed of her from an early age and though we never spoke about it until it was too late, there will always remain an unbroken and eternal bond between us and we communicated in ways that outsiders could not perceive and which we ourselves held as too sacred to speak about openly.
At any rate, it was the neighborhood I wanted to involve in this diatribe and its influence on how I felt, reasoned and became as I grew up in and as a member of…
A blind man could smell the scent and sense the love this neighborhood had to share with the world and the seeing would naturally become insightful from a visit to our village. The shops, of which my favorites to visit just for the sights and scents were the Hardware Store and Pharmacy, the former had the scent of usefulness and accuracy in stock and notion; the latter the same in frock and potion.
Besides these gems and olfactory delights, there were the post office, library, school building, etc. each had their own distinct sounds and scents of comfort and trust, security and freedom well governed by mutual agreement and long standing integrity, hard won and much beloved and proud of, and I felt, rightly so.
Each year we enjoyed a much anticipated, advertised and promoted and well visited “Village Day” which was heaven on earth for kids my age, who would run crazy in the streets, shut off from any traffic for the Day’s Event and skip from one charming sales booth or entertainment pitch all day long, usually containing if not many at least one all out war of a neighborhood water-balloon fight!
Apart from this once a year rampage of fun and festivity- our neighborhood flowed with the very essence and lifeblood of intelligence and common sense. Lots of common yet essential wisdom went into preserving, perpetuating and maintaining law and order without need of more than one police officer on duty at any given time to keep the peace.
There existed no strife or anxiety, worry or animosity that couldn’t be resolved and overcome with a swift outing and dealing with whatever the commotion or upset might have been and with a simple solution, banished as soon from sight and memory which left naught else but sweet consolations many to keep all in all in Harmony United.
To be sure and fair, we had our share of trouble makers and thug wannabes, but they were all well known, out matched and out gunned by old school hands and brotherly agreements enduring for many generations.
Rarely did anything or anyone get out of hand and if so, whatever/whomever it were, was quickly dealt a hand of old school justice and put to bed, never again to raise its bloodied head to boast in ought else save neighborhood pride and our satisfaction therein and therewith would keep it that way for many years to come. We The People knew who We The People were and what we were meant to be was a straight forward and clear as a good ass kicking could make evident, and as a result, few sore thumbs stood out and the only offensive and unclean bird in the ‘hood were the occasional middle finger, most often stretched out in good humor and sufficient evidence and unspoken significance of dissatisfaction or dislike one for another and if any dislike was so strong as to require bare arms, we knew where to meet and resolve the difference to either parties satisfaction or disappointment and whatever the outcome – that was the end of it. Mostly such extremes were never relied upon so much as our ability and willingness to rise above and overcome all pettiness and selfish glory seeking.
The short and long of the story being We were all of and for One and One for All and vermin and unclean and/or wild beasts were very uncommon if not unheard and unknown of in our Village few, brave and free.
But, as with all good things, we had our foes both within and without to deal with in no uncertain terms and when the Village Vine would to branch out, the fruit was not always suited to the taste, so to speak of the Mother Tree, and/or Village Vintage. Fruit as worthy of the Original Roots was uncommon in the graft, and so we made do with what sprung up of itself and perhaps shewing forth too much and even an unwise amount of my Mum’s tolerance for otherness, showed too much mercy toward that which tended to decay and infect unto pestilence or contagion throughout the Vineyard of the Manor, of the Village become State become Nation become United Nations become O.W.G., etc., and quite forgetting that that which is of the Manor born should not be treated or neglected as though of the Manor abhorred, which is surely what came to pass the more the original stock did advance its Uncommon Cause and spread its goodly will and better nature to the wild and untamed corners of our world of many wonders perplexed by as many blunders as down gone sunders may arise unexpectantly adversarial, etc.
In which case, you’d betta betta run, you’d betta betta take cover, eeyow!
But then again, Missing Persons were often as blessed as they may have seemed cursed or cut off, because if you could make it through the wilderness, and climb the long way to the top, you could Rock’n’Roll as long as you lasted.
Not in Wisdom’s paths would you be found but not everyone is born to or chooses to be wise. It takes a nation to form Public Enemy #1. We have the right to remain creative in out witting the right to remain silent so as not to incriminate ourselves or others. And we or they who have not gone astray of the Way nor fallen from Grace are zealous for saving our brethren who have fallen into disrepute or even infamy, as we are to save any lost souls-quick or dead. None of us were born to judge nor to run but to do G-d’s Will, redeeming ourselves and our rebellious brethren with equal zeal and ambition as may have led them off the Path of the Righteous. ‘He who saves souls is wise…'(Proverbs 11:30b).
Yeshayah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the Mevaser (bringer of Good Tidings, the Evangelist), that publisheth shalom; that bringeth good tidings of tov, that publisheth Yeshuah (Salvation); that saith unto Tziyon, Thy G-d reigneth!
But what of the Tribal Tail (sic) of Sir Cuss Feet’s?
The pass times of idlers and the idolatrous; the outcast and the heathen in their contests of the witless violently domesticated beasts of burden, which for the greater part, are but former slaves propelled into stardom over night and rewarded with such riches as the heirs of holy men should never dream of nor imagine, much less receive, covet and claim – Sports, theatre and the arts, etc., are verily the stuff dreams are made of but they also may make use or abuse of anyone who might or probably would otherwise be shunned and outcast as rebels and the stuff that witch craft is made of, namely whoredom in boredom, leading to hoard ’em and board ’em abuses and fallouts of world war proportions.
Yet, in the eyes of innocence and imaginations of children unawares are inspirational in a way that at first cause is no crime but in the long run, they who had favored the cause of segregation to ensure the peaceful prosperity of a people multiculturalist United under One G-d, State, Banner and Dream may be proved wise if not right, if We The People do not take pains to make sure they are proved wrong.
So long as nothing or no one campaign for said pass time, sport or vanity become anymore than a child’s inspiration in imagination and skill derivation, or talent test and trial, for cultivation of a gift specifically ordained for our benefit, especially within the body of believers and that much only in youth, the child will likely overcome the call of the wild and the fancy will pass and the child will grow out of the fascination of fandom, idolatry, etc., and become his or her own man or woman in G-d trusting to make the best use of the gift or talent.
G-d may not make use of proud people. Nothingness in and of ourselves permits Him to mold something of Us United, as in Haggai 1:12-14; you’ll note the sense of Unity of purpose, the most important quality our nation may share with the world and with G-d and one another.
Psalm 133:1 How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!
He will fulfill the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. (Psalm 145:19)
“His own Spirit has wrought this desire in us, and therefore He will answer it. It is His own life within which prompts the cry, and therefore He will hear it. Those who fear Him are men under the holiest influence, and, therefore, their desire is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. Like Daniel, they are men of desires, and the Lord will cause them to realize their aspirations.
Holy desires are grace in the blade, and the heavenly Husbandman will cultivate them till they come to the full corn in the ear. God-fearing men desire to be holy, to be useful, to be a blessing to others, and so to honor their Lord. They desire supplies for their need, help under burdens, guidance in perplexity, deliverance in distress; and sometimes this desire is so strong and their case so pressing that they cry out in agony like little children in pain, and then the Lord works most comprehensively and does all that is needful according to this Word—”and will save them.”
Yes, if we fear God, we have nothing else to fear; if we cry to the Lord, our salvation is certain.” C.H. Spurgeon
Ephesians 4:2-8, 14-16
With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One L-rd, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
After all, sports can be a pretty tedious waste of time if you’re not actually and actively involved and sometimes, especially when you are involved.
“The sense of participation is lost, the feeling that ordinary individuals influence important decisions vanishes, and man[kind] becomes separated and diminished..” MLK
It were sports writers, radio and broadcasting personalities and sometimes the personalities of the athletes and sportsmen themselves that made whatever game interesting and worthwhile, making the mundane seem magical and larger than life.
But, at its worst, it becomes and object of elimination by injury at all costs, which gambling and bribery necessitate and ruin the competitors purity of zeal and devotion for the game’s sake long before the season may even begin from year to year.
Of course, it is all far more complex and vain than all this and people excuse it knowingly which condemns both sport and fan, and proves a dangerous drain on society’s cultural values and We The People’s investment in ourselves and our posterity, in G-d trusting.
Nevertheless, and be that as it may, sports enthusiasm is preferable to gangland USA and the cowboy and Indian police state that ensue when youth and authority misspent and misdirected leads one and all to desperation’s precipice and our choices in life become that of between a rock and a hard place, where all of humanity is chained under one great length of shackles common in beggary, buggery, boo, you spook me and I’ll spook you!
In many cases, sports themselves are to blame for these failures within our ranks, and they offer little to nothing solution-wise.
But, it is written G-d visits/cares for the prisoners.
Alma 5:77 Behold, he changed their hearts; yea, he awakened them out of a deep sleep, and they awoke unto God. Behold, they were in the midst of darkness; nevertheless, their souls were illuminated by the light of the everlasting word; yea, they were encircled about by the bands of death, and the chains of hell, and an everlasting destruction did await them.
Doctrine and Covenants 123:6-10
That we may not only publish to all the world, but present them to the heads of government in all their dark and hellish hue, as the last effort which is enjoined on us by our Heavenly Father, before we can fully and completely claim that promise which shall call him forth from his hiding place; and also that the whole nation may be left without excuse before he can send forth the power of his mighty arm. It is an imperative duty that we owe to God, to angels, with whom we shall be brought to stand, and also to ourselves, to our wives and children, who have been made to bow down with grief, sorrow, and care, under the most damning hand of murder, tyranny, and oppression, supported and urged on and upheld by the influence of that spirit which hath so strongly riveted the creeds of the fathers, who have inherited lies, upon the hearts of the children, and filled the world with confusion, and has been growing stronger and stronger, and is now the very mainspring of all corruption, and the whole earth groans under the weight of its iniquity. It is an iron yoke, it is a strong band; they are the very handcuffs, and chains, and shackles, and fetters of hell. Therefore it is an imperative duty that we owe, not only to our own wives and children, but to the widows and fatherless, whose husbands and fathers have been murdered under its iron hand; Which dark and blackening deeds are enough to make hell itself shudder, and to stand aghast and pale, and the hands of the very devil to tremble and palsy.
Again and again, I am led to the only conclusion which makes sense.
Therefore I will be your king the remainder of my days; nevertheless, let us appoint judges, to judge this people according to our law; and we will newly arrange the affairs of this people, for we will appoint wise men to be judges, that will judge this people according to the commandments of God.
While we concentrate on continuing to clean up the mess, excusing what we may, improving what strengths and virtues the system naturally possesses, removing corruption at its root cause wherever we may find it, little by little, finding ourselves inspired by the labor itself and renewed and reborn from day to day as we recover from ages of quite failing ourselves, our Untied will grants new life to forms of expression and freedom of will in exchange for no more than what we’ve already taken sacred, binding oaths and vows to perform anyway, making the labor all the more worth it and the result Scriptural fulfillment, being reborn ignorant of the fact that we were baptized at all. Instead of using our liberty as a cloak for maliciousness of which we are not ignorant, as may have been the case during the past four or five generations of madness dressed in its working clothes.
Instead, verily, invest our mutual allegiance, concern, compassion and determined love for all in seeking His Righteousness on Earth as in Heaven.
Therefore they relinquished their desires for a ruler, and became exceedingly anxious that every man should have an equal chance throughout all the land; yea, and every man expressed a willingness to answer for his own sins.
Alma 24:18 And this they did, it being in their view a testimony to God, and also to men, that they never would use weapons again for the shedding of man’s blood; and this they did, vouching and covenanting with God, that rather than shed the blood of their brethren they would give up their own lives; and rather than take away from a brother they would give unto him; and rather than spend their days in idleness they would labor abundantly with their hands.
And all this shall be done for the Commonwealth and welfare of We The People, the rearing of a Third Temple on American soil and the Last Kingdom of God on Earth as it shall be in Heaven.
Don’t get me entirely wrong; I like sports and have always genuinely admired athletes both small and great and I think it is an excellent way to train and build strength in body and mind, even as a soldier would for warfare, but I don’t think it is wisdom to devote an entire life to a game; much less reap rewards obnoxious and unhealthy for the player as well as the played. In the end, the African American proverb rings true ”You played yo’self!”
1 Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
Don’t risk losing out on that which is true riches!
Change is the most dramatic proof of One being found in the Way everlasting, and G-d Himself never changes and is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, etc. Baptism, a change of heart and Way of relating to all of life is proof of something more or greater at work in us, striving to overcome and win prizes not available in any competition carnal and worldly – as soldiers for Christ.
A United People without purpose or direction leads to Chaos in spiritual affairs, wanting in validation of signs and wonders both within and without, miracles shared and enjoyed daily and souls saved singing ‘Hallelujahs’ and ‘Hosannas’ unto the Most High.
Messiah indeed continues alway, but is what we make of Him, and a reluctant Messiah whom all hell follows after is not the sort of Shepherd good He would long to be, nor the kind of Faith He would wish to share, but becomes as people are willing to use Him – to protect themselves, subjugate others; to Whom they show loyalty and love according to their own opinions and circumstances as varied as the many cultural gifts and creative whims the world in its entirety may indulge and experience for good or for ill, it matters not to a people primarily disobedient to the call and duty of a true, heart-converted Jew. All may be off-handedly allegiant but without obedience as heirs, servants and debtors are not of One Spirit but of many and prove no more united in structure, intention, labor, and outcome than Legion and have no idea to whom they belong until it is too late.
Luke 9:55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
Hisgalus 6:8 And I saw, and, hinei, a sus yerakrak (a greenish pale horse), and the one sitting upon it, that rider’s name was Mavet, and She’ol was following with him. And there was given to them samchut (authority) over a quarter of ha’aretz (the earth), to kill with cherev (sword) and with ra’av (famine) and with mavet (death) and by the chayyot (beasts) of ha’aretz (the earth). [ZECHARYAH 6:3; HOSHEA 13:14; YIRMEYAH 15:2,3; 24:10; YECHEZKEL 5:12,17]
Even or especially when one takes sports seriously, there is no excuse for paying a trained beast what nations of wanting children may be due or worth and ought to be invested in for Kingdom glory’s sake and Scriptural fulfillment of the best kind.
As for kicking, throwing, passing, hitting, shooting at a ball and or each other with enough precision to inspire awe in fans and prove they have spent untold of hours of idle days, months, seasons and years perfecting talents and perhaps gifts which may neither help them nor point to or speak for their justification in the last day – but to the contrary, may prove their everlasting condemnation. Proficiency in shoveling shit and other mundane but necessary work in society is worth more to the same in the long and short of it, and goes without saying, is a thankless job but someone’s got to do it.
But who’s watching the pen while the glory hounds are out playing? Who’s training up the child in the Way in which he should go?
Proverbs 15:16-18 Better a little with the fear of the L-rd than great wealth with turmoil. Better a small serving of vegetables with love than a fattened calf with hatred. A hot-tempered person stirs up conflict, but the one who is patient calms a quarrel.
‘Infiltrate, abominate and fill with hate’ is the enemy’s mantra…
And that’s the “BIG SECRET” behind the Beast – less horrifying than heavy metal gurus may convince your children it really is. It is, of course and of necessity, a state of perpetual warfare and destructions many with zero intent of ever establishing world peace.
The only reality that restricts the Beast from complete annihilation of all and itself is HaShem’s interest in His people, His righteousness and Mercy’s claim upon individuals and lands within HaShem’s Creation which out of compassion are meant to be inhabited unto His Glory.
To our universal shame, the enemy’s derisive scorn, and our mutual fate’s morosity, the end will be eventual destruction of our world, which the righteous will be saved out of and which we are living in the final days and decisions concerning the last Kingdom United on earth unlike it will be in Heaven but ordered according to the Saving Hand that has fashioned Our Heavenly Jerusalem.
Given the current and long endured chaos and calamity wrought upon the State and Nation by We The People, leaders, citizens, convicts, con-artists, authorities, quacks and patients etc., of varying sizes, suits, backgrounds, colors, creeds and credentials present and accountable or altogether wanting in validity. How may We The People ensure the future efforts, ideas, invention and most importantly, inclinations go not to waste and futility or exasperation.
America is more than a nation or dream or worthy and noble cause, it contains the heirs of a Kingdom beyond imagination and a Throne or Mercy Seat which must contain the concern of the entire Cosmos, from whence the Universe , as a whole derives its lifeblood, meaning, inspiration holy. Reason and hope for the here and now as well as the hereafter IF We The People invest all of our might, mind, strength and soul purpose into preserving all She may have been or yet may be to us and our children and theirs.
2 Nephi 30:66 And then shall they rejoice; for they shall know that it is a blessing unto them from the hand of God; and their scales of darkness shall begin to fall from their eyes; and many generations shall not pass away among them, save they shall be a pure and a delightsome people.
The question is not how do we protect our homeland from foreign threats, but how to protect ourselves from ourselves and such people as we may have considered neighbors from becoming infected or disaffected and corrupted by the same people who have for generations now used State authority, agency and finance and the irony of all, to problems implemented thereby to further the inevitable collapse of our Commonwealth. Which defraud State and National outreach programs such as homeless prevention, healthcare and all programs that are so easily pilfered and cut off or reinvested in with monies and capital that no one cares where it comes from nor at what cost or price ultimate and eternal may be as long as it keeps flowing though the programs and people supposedly benefitted thereby remain hopelessly rutted for life times.
How do we without becoming unfeeling monsters and tyrants ourselves as One and all clean out the necessary space wasted otherwise and rid ourselves of hopeless problem cases, such as terminal patients and or career criminals (and it is very hard to tell the difference these days!), etc., with wisdom not robbing justice or the bank as our chiefest intention hopeful and holy.
I wish to ensure that future generations will never have to deal with or go through the confining amount of affliction that lingers, haunts and threatens to destroy much good with or by means of a few (comparatively speaking) well placed bitter roots and what the Scriptures refer to sometimes as ‘pricks’ and others as spots and blemishes, thorns and briars, bad apples whose singular delight is to ruin a bunch with deplorable intention sadistic and unworthy of merciful consideration since they possess no understanding of the same and its virtues saving.
2 Peter 2:17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
The only answer is a jubilant one touched with some sadness in necessary separation and parting of company and perhaps ways.
Any connection lasting being strictly a personal decision openly related to One as to All.
And now I desire that this inequality should be no more in this land, especially among this my people; but I desire that this land be a land of liberty, and every man may enjoy his rights and privileges alike, so long as the L-rd sees fit that we may live and inherit the land, yea, even as long as any of our posterity remains upon the face of the land.
If we are to recapture and or remain at Liberty, how important must it be that if we have leaders in anywise, that these leaders be found in the Way and be Chosen from among all parties, peoples and tribes involved or represented.
2 Nephi 10:11 And this land shall be a land of liberty unto the Gentiles, and there shall be no kings upon the land, who shall raise up unto the Gentiles.
Under Reagan, everything was pillaged within his or Gadianton’s grasp and prisons became hobo dens or criminal training grounds and nursing homes ‘Dutch ovens’ of pestilence and depravity unknown among our adversaries, and thus minorities became the majority’s sadistic shame. But if the majority had chosen that which was good and just and right alway, working no hypocrisy or villainy, even with an actor playing the part of President, We The People should be able to overcome by concentrating on building up virtues and noble character, rather than permitting characters wanting in either example or case to build up whatever abominable edifices as make or cause night mares in superivision and task mastering.
Matthew 23:2-4 Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.
Mosiah 29:12-13, 25-27
Now it is better that a man should be judged of God than of man, for the judgments of God are always just, but the judgments of man are not always just. Therefore, if it were possible that you could have just men to be your kings, who would establish the laws of God, and judge this people according to his commandments, yea, if ye could have men for your kings who would do even as my father Benjamin did for this people—I say unto you, if this could always be the case then it would be expedient that ye should always have kings to rule over you.
Therefore, choose you by the voice of this people, judges, that ye may be judged according to the laws which have been given you by our fathers, which are correct, and which were given them by the hand of the Lord. Now it is not common that the voice of the people desireth anything contrary to that which is right; but it is common for the lesser part of the people to desire that which is not right; therefore this shall ye observe and make it your law—to do your business by the voice of the people. And if the time comes that the voice of the people doth choose iniquity, then is the time that the judgments of God will come upon you; yea, then is the time he will visit you with great destruction even as he has hitherto visited this land.
Be your own person in the L-RD, as is only possible in America and make your contribution count by being of the same mind as the poor widow who threw in her last two cents worth, even all her living into the treasury, not because she wished to please man or even so much as help her fellows but because her Faith was in G-d, Whom being obedinetly heard would bless all of mankind and the work or enterprise of their hands for ages to come because of her seemingly small contribution.
Most importantly when it comes to choosing leaders remember Messiah’s words in which we may forever have confidence:
“Salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22).
Take you anashim chachamim, men of wisdom and understanding, who are known among your tribes, and I will set them over you. And ye answered me, and said, The thing which thou hast spoken is tov for us to do.
The Foundations have not been destroyed and there is yet much good the righteous may do in America, G-d willing, He will bless Us from this day forward. With much littleness and humility let us go forth into the L-RD’s vineyard each day and reap while the day lasts, leaving the keeping of our souls to One in Whom we have complete Trust and Faith, even when things, people and economies go bust, we shall with His help transform to Gold all that may be rust at present and recover what tends toward dross before it be too late and there is no other choice but to endure the furnace of affliction. Working G-d’s will through love and not hate.
1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
“AMERICA FOR ME”
‘TIS fine to see the Old World, and travel up and down
Among the famous palaces and cities of renown,
To admire the crumbly castles and the statues of the kings,—
But now I think I’ve had enough of antiquated things.
So it’s home again, and home again, America for me!
My heart is turning home again, and there I long to be,
In the land of youth and freedom beyond the ocean bars,
Where the air is full of sunlight and the flag is full of stars!
Oh, London is a man’s town, there’s power in the air;
And Paris is a woman’s town, with flowers in her hair;
And it’s sweet to dream in Venice, and it’s great to study Rome;
But when it comes to living there is no place like home.
I like the German fir-woods, in green battalions drilled;
I like the gardens of Versailles with flashing fountains filled;
But, oh, to take your hand, my dear, and ramble for a day
In the friendly western woodland where Nature has her way!
I know that Europe’s wonderful, yet something seems to lack:
The Past is too much with her, and the people looking back.
But the glory of the Present is to make the Future free,—
We love our land for what she is and what she is to be.
Oh, it’s home again, and home again, America for me!
I want a ship that’s westward bound to plough the rolling sea,
To the bléssed Land of Room Enough beyond the ocean bars,
Where the air is full of sunlight and the flag is full of stars
Henry Van Dyke (1852-1933)
