Thus Joseph knew his brothers, but they did not know him.
When Joseph does not know who he is and more importantly – is not free to be who he is- Fastidious, forthright, and fixedly fidelitous for each purpose which the Spirit calls him forth to bear witness to or perform for a greater glory, his struggles may produce in him the opposite to some extent and he may rebel in spite and in order to survive become Sloppy Joe and spend the greater part of his life wallowing in a mire of self loathing and in the general ‘john’ of time wasted, dumping on a dunghill he may even be king of, in clinging to it…
But an Joseph encouraged and inspired to be such as he is indeed, as a Pharisee of Pharisees and Scribe of scribes, perfect in every way but none. Unless led astray by or of necessity, as it may have been in the case of Egypt, as by his own ego and self assuredness. The dunghill is still a dunghill not a throne of mercy and judgment. The cocky tend to fall into it to their own hurt and what they do to pull themselves free is not always wisdom or as much as falling therein may have been to correct the sin of haughtiness or self-reliance, worldly pride, etc.
There is a fine line…
An Joseph Smith Generation can either work marvels and greater works than Messiah himself, or more mayhem than the enemy himself, depending on what or whom girds on his loins and/or looses his shoe lachet.
Faithfulness, love and admiration of fellows has no equal in Joseph – fidelity also and loyalty multiplied sevenfold with intelligence in spiritual matters, likely to be too heady and optimistic for a world sinking in the mire, but having endured the same may possess and impart the greater wisdom and encouragement necessary to ‘save’ said generation from its own folly and avoid its effectual ruination.
The L-RD’s will be done; but to know Joseph from his small beginnings is enough of a gift in and of itself to satisfy kith and kin, if not foe and enemy of estimation beyond worldly scales and weights, the measures of mankind.
He is molded and inspired after the heavenly and at once departs from things worldly and carnal so as to be markedly different from his peers from day one and therefore shall know as much and more of the world’s hatred as he may of heaven’s favor. But, in the long run, having willingly subjected himself to the lesser for the greater, wins more souls to HaShem for heaven’s sake than he may ever want for Wisdom’s dominion on earth when all have gone astray of Her paths.
Congenial and winsome to a fault, when all men are at their weakest and most vulnerable, Joseph’s imagination is at its peak in working out solutions, how he may persuade, invent, encourage, repair breaches of trust both mortal and spiritual; to the end that all might come to Unity in the Faith, becoming as much mediator of the renewed covenant as noble heir to the same everlasting, leading captives captive into captivity unto Liberty Divine in HaShem of hosts.
“Educate a child according to his own way and when he is older, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Helemna 12 And thus we can behold how false, and also the unsteadiness of the hearts of the children of men; yea, we can see that the L-rd in his great infinite goodness doth bless and prosper those who put their trust in him.
Yea, and we may see at the very time when he doth prosper his people, yea, in the increase of their fields, their flocks and their herds, and in gold, and in silver, and in all manner of precious things of every kind and art; sparing their lives, and delivering them out of the hands of their enemies; softening the hearts of their enemies that they should not declare wars against them; yea, and in fine, doing all things for the welfare and happiness of his people; yea, then is the time that they do harden their hearts, and do forget the L-rd their God, and do trample under their feet the Holy One—yea, and this because of their ease, and their exceedingly great prosperity.
And thus we see that except the L-rd doth chasten his people with many afflictions, yea, except he doth visit them with death and with terror, and with famine and with all manner of pestilence, they will not remember him.
O how foolish, and how vain, and how evil, and devilish, and how quick to do iniquity, and how slow to do good, are the children of men; yea, how quick to hearken unto the words of the evil one, and to set their hearts upon the vain things of the world!
Yea, how quick to be lifted up in pride; yea, how quick to boast, and do all manner of that which is iniquity; and how slow are they to remember the L-rd their God, and to give ear unto his counsels, yea, how slow to walk in wisdom’s paths!
Behold, they do not desire that the L-rd their God, who hath created them, should rule and reign over them; notwithstanding his great goodness and his mercy towards them, they do set at naught his counsels, and they will not that he should be their guide.
O how great is the nothingness of the children of men; yea, even they are less than the dust of the earth.
For the dust of the earth moveth hither and thither, to the dividing asunder, at the command of our great and everlasting God.
Yea, at his voice do the hills and the mountains tremble and quake.
And by the power of his voice they are broken up, and become smooth, yea, even like unto a valley.
Yea, by the power of his voice doth the whole earth shake;
Yea, by the power of his voice, do the foundations rock, even to the very center.
Yea, and if he say unto the earth—Move—it is moved.
Yea, if he say unto the earth—Thou shalt go back, that it lengthen out the day for many hours—it is done;
And thus, according to his word the earth goeth back, and it appeareth unto man that the sun standeth still; yea, and behold, this is so; for surely it is the earth that moveth and not the sun.
And, also, if he say unto the waters of the great deep—Be thou dried up—it is done.
Behold, if he say unto this mountain—Be thou raised up, and come over and fall upon that city, that it be buried up—behold it is done.
And if a man hide up a treasure in the earth, and the L-rd shall say—Let it be accursed, because of the iniquity of him who hath hid it up—behold, it shall be accursed.
And if the L-rd shall say—Be thou accursed, that no man shall find thee from this time henceforth and forever—behold, no man getteth it henceforth and forever.
And if the L-rd shall say unto a man—Because of thine iniquities, thou shalt be accursed forever—it shall be done.
And if the L-rd shall say—Because of thine iniquities thou shalt be cut off from my presence—he will cause that it shall be so.
And wo unto him to whom he shall say this, for it shall be unto him that will do iniquity, and he cannot be saved; therefore, for this cause, that men might be saved, hath repentance been declared.
Therefore, blessed are they who will repent and hearken unto the voice of the L-rd their God; for these are they that shall be saved.
And may God grant, in his great fulness, that men might be brought unto repentance and good works, that they might be restored unto grace for grace, according to their works.
And I would that all men might be saved. But we read that in the great and last day there are some who shall be cast out, yea, who shall be cast off from the presence of the L-rd;
Yea, who shall be consigned to a state of endless misery, fulfilling the words which say: They that have done good shall have everlasting life; and they that have done evil shall have everlasting damnation. And thus it is. Amen.
Lots of stuff happens that people don’t want to know or think about, but I was betrayed by family and friends and taken advantage of by an host of bitter roots held captive by an host of politicians, judges, lawyers and schmucks who don’t give a damn about anything but their own personal gain.
I am the opposite though I don’t mean to boast. I care about others and put others needs, etc. before my own.
I believe whole heartedly that this is the only way to succeed and that all those who betrayed me are beyond failure and without hope in the world, and so they don’t care. They are absolutely more dangerous than all the criminal minds active and working to destroy our country and freedom put together. It is a long and sordid story but every lost moment and irretrievable decision, action and deed is part of our inevitable ruin and that everlasting. But those who believe in G-d will inherit a better world and eternal life, so the losses and crosses are not so hard to bear after all. Those who willingly betray and work evil have no hope of anything beyond this world’s temporary rewards and pleasures, which aren’t really even worth it in this world without G-d. The adversary is very cunning and the righteous are few in numbers and always outwitted, because the witless break the rules with impunity, so that wit and noble inclination mean nothing and zero.
HaShem works marvelous things for us in many ways, and often by way of affliction and loss we gain most or ‘evolve’ as some say. I think those who try to chisel a permanent niche for themselves or seek to establish other than a world wide kingdom for all get stuck in non-temporary situations that suck and then they make trouble for others, which makes their own situation sevenfold worse than it already is or was.
The Bible is more than worth reading, it is our life. I once wrote a book but it turned out to be mostly nonsense and not as entertaining as I thought it would or may have been at the time. It was enjoyable but times ‘evolved’ or changed as change is upon the face of all things. It is nice that G-d never changes but when people don’t they make matters worse for themselves and other sometimes. Everything depends upon intention and inclination. May ours be good and our rewards an hundredfold of goodness to share with those who love us and whom we love in return.

The Sun that now is but a spark;
But soon will be unfurled
The glorious banner of us all
The flag that rises ne’er to fall
