A Very Puzzling Pair of Bulls

The Missing Piece

Kay, Sarah Zera, what ever will be, will be written in Torah for Oui…

Paul’s Gospel first comes to us in the story of Sarah’s reconciliation to G-d whom she offends through unbelief and scoffing and laughing at- derision or disdain for (?) through Abraham’s unswerving devotion and never changing or faltering belief/faith in Him.

The second example, although there may be as many instances as there are characters in the bible of the realization to some extent of the gospel’s fulfillment in any measure, is of the grudging reconciliation between Jacob and Esau…Which was a hard won reconciliation, but well worth all the trouble and tea in Asia it may have been much ado about in the first as well as last place.

Lekh L’kha

Genesis 12

“G-d seeks to create a community, a people, [and] descendants of a G-d fearing couple, in hope that the members of that community would sustain and reinforce each other. In that way, ordinary people would be capable of displaying extraordinary behavior.”EHC

Fighting Idols ~ Current World Government/Mindset/Worldview of Society ~ Kislev 5774

“Another Midrash portrays Abraham’s father Terah as a manufacturer of idols. One night Avram smashed all of his father’s idols. The next morning, his father, incensed, demanded to know who had destroyed his property.

‘They attacked each other,’ Avram told him. ‘That’s impossible!’ cried Terah. ‘They are made of stone. There is no soul [intelligence] or spirit [life] in them.’ ‘Then why do you worship them?’ Avram challenged him [Gen. R. 38:13].”EHC

What is the Jewish Spirit?

It may be described as a superior intelligence but it is based on a heart that strives to know G-d, that never quits until it obtains His blessing and knows Him in full or in part as much as HaShem is willing to impart to any who thirst and seek after Him with extraordinary passion, i.e., all their heart, mind and strength.

Paul likens it unto a race for a prize, I would say it is more of a journey and is full of many prizes and rewards.

Abraham 3;19 And the L-RD said unto me:

These two facts do exist; that there are two spirits; one being more intelligent than the other; there shall be another more intelligent than they; I am the L-RD, thy God, I am more intelligent than they all.

So even as love is superior to hatred and as wrath cannot accomplish the will of G-d; so mankind, angels, devils and what have you cannot know as much and as fully and clearly as G-d knows all- being the Creator of all.

All this is best known, felt and experienced through Faith which when considered knowledge is likened unto a perfect knowledge that cannot be learned in any ‘human’ way, save that of a pure heart’s wisdom.

“Go forth to find your authentic self, to learn who you are meant to be [Mei-Ha-Shi-loah].

“…leaving one’s geographic country of origin is easier than leaving one’s family [Alshekh].

“To merit the promised reward, you must so live as to be a blessing to the world.

“I will bless each nation in accordance with the respect it shows the Jewish Spirit.”

“The affluence of Abram’s family becomes a threat to its tranquility…For a righteous person great wealth can be a burden, a challenge to use it wisely and responsibly.

Greed- Ecological conditions, forcing a limit to the size of the herds, have begun to affect family harmony. Increasingly there is friction over available pasturage and water.”EHC

Increased riches seems to effect one’s Faith in God’s providence, or perhaps the misuse of them creates lack of faith and reliance upon G-d, forgetting that He is able to give all things needful in abundance beyond what we can ask or imagine possible..

It’s the lawless craving or lasvicious craving that cuts off supply because the demand is unworthy to be met…A certain taking of things for granted always leads to war if not robbery whether the wealthy rob the poor to become more wealthy in their insecurity or the robbers rob all alike just for the sake of robbery, an illicit urge prompting yet other urges in virtuous men and women who would fight such corruption as G-d may detest, i.e., Amalek, Islam, inferior spirits whose lack of belief in One G-d and lack of respect for the Jewish Spirit results in G-d seeking their destruction from the world He created for the Jewish people, through Abraham primarily and all others, again through Abraham, secondarily, the heathen, goyim, etc.

Faith in One G-d is a Gift of G-d’s own creating and bestowal. How one learns his or her faith may be a corruption of the same or an ennobling and perfecting of faith unto good works and bountiful wisdom that never stops growing and giving, learning and living. This is a faith that saves unto eternal life, not one that ‘dies in its sins” but that seeks G-d and finds Him and thereby enters His Kingdom and the guarantee of what they call ‘a portion of torah’ in the hereafter and in the world to come life eternal.

‘This above all, to thine own self be true.’- maintains solicitude.

Lot’s choice determines Lot’s lot.

“The Midrash reads the word for ‘eastward’ [mi-kedem] as ‘mi-kadmono shel olam’, ‘away from the Ancient One.’ Lot chose to live closer to Sodom and further from God [Gen. R. 41:7].

Genesis 14:1-23

“This is the first biblical account of warfare. The narrative reveals a new side of Avram’s character: He is a decisive, courageous,  and skilled battle commander.

“In the face of the common threat, the rebellious cities formed a five city confederacy. “ ~EHC

Alma 27&28 is kind of a messy and different retelling of Genesis 14 for those who even know their roots with the end result being more compromise than destruction and warfare.

“Rebellion by a vassal or state began when it withheld payment of the annual tribute stipulated in the treaty between king and vassal.

“Having disposed of any threat from the neighboring peoples; the invaders now engage the rebellious five cities, the main target of the campaign.”EHC

Avram the Hebrew:

Avram was always way ahead of himself with HaShem on his side, a man from the other side to all sides…

‘All the world was on one side [eiver] and he on the other side.’ This alludes to Abram’s non-conformism.

“Abram had the advantage of fresh troops and a night engagement against a battle weary, depleted enemy. By dividing his forces and attacking from two sides, he achieved tactical surprise and neutralized the numerical superiority of his foe.“ EHC

Moving on…he never stopped or turned back from seeking the Kingdom.

“Having discharged his duty to his kinsman and paid his dues to the priest king, the patriarch now wishes to have nothing more to do with Sodom and rejects the idea of personal gain.” EHC

All this to make way for Avram’s King who was perhaps the unrecognized and even hated King of kings even then, Melchizedek, the Mystery Man, Moshiach, Christ, etc.?

Hebrews 7: 1-8

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of our most High G-d, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him.

To whom also Abraham gave a tenth of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace.”

Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of G-d, remains priest continually.

Now consider how great this man is, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of his spoils.

And indeed those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to receive a tithe from the people according to the law, that is, from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham.

But he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promise.

Now beyond all contradiction the lesser is blessed by the better.

Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives.

Righteous king, generous, liberal, merciful, 13 attributes of G-d in One.

“The commentary Or Ha-Hayyim sets the generosity of Melchizedek in contrast to the cunning greed of the king of Sodom.

“The offer from the king of Sodom, translated literally was ’give me the soul(s) and take the property for yourself.’ This has been the bargain to the Jewish people in many countries of our dispersion: become prosperous here but at the cost of your soul.”

“He reckoned IT to his merit.”

“The subject of the verb is G-d; IT refers to Avram’s act of faith, which made him worthy of G-d’s reward, about to be secured through a covenant. The Hebrew word tz’dekah [righteousness] can also have the sense of ‘merit’.

Wuzzup wid Hagar?

“The name related to the Arabic word hajara, ‘to flee’ may mean ‘fugitive .‘ A people called Hagrites, mentioned in Ps. 83:7 and 1 Chron 5:10, 19ff., were pastoralists who roamed the Syro-Arabian desert.

In ancient times the woman, not the man, was regarded as the source of barrenness, [impetus for baroness?] although G-d was seen as the ultimate cause.

“Walk in My ways- “Literally, ‘Walk before Me.’ The corresponding Akkadian phrase is a technical term for absolute loyalty to a king. In the bible to ‘walk before G-d’ means to condition one’s entire range of experience by the awareness of G-d’s presence.

“Be Whole-‘come before Me with your whole self, the parts of yourself you are proud of and the parts you are ashamed of and wish were different.’

“Inspired spirits may be revived through trust in G-d’s creative vitality.” EHC

~Concord Hymn~

“By the rude bridge that arched the flood,

Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled,

Here once the embattled farmers stood,

And fired the shot heard round the world.

The foe long since in silence slept;

Alike the conqueror silent sleeps;

And Time the ruined bridge has swept

Down the dark stream which seaward creeps.

On this green bank, by this soft stream;

We set today a votive stone,

That memory may their deed redeem,

When, like our sires, our sons are gone.

Spirit, that made those spirits dare

To die, and leave their children free,

Bid Time and Nature gently spare

The shaft we raise to them and thee.

~Ralph Waldo Emerson~

“G-d is the foundation on which Jewish Civilization is built and Abraham is the forefather of all righteous individuals.”EHC

Luke 18:8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, will he really find faith on the earth?

Luke 19:8 Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, ‘Look I give half of my goods to the poor , and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.

Luke 19:37 Dayenu, more than enough!

Luke 19:44 Consequences of blindness, unbelief.

2 Samuel 12:16 And he shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity.

D&C 98:44 But if he trespass against thee the fourth time thou shalt not forgive him, but shalt bring these testimonies before the L-rd; and they shall not be blotted out until he repent and reward thee four-fold in all things wherewith he has trespassed against thee.

Acts 2:32 HaShem raises Y’shua and the Holy Spirit descends upon One and all.

BTW, Sarah means Princess, Zera means offspring.

Let all the children of Abraham rejoice! Sons of David and Yosef, and all ye tribes of Yisrael and Yishmael, Be One.
