Idols cannot save Babylon
"Assemble yourselves and come;
draw near together,
you survivors of the nations!
They have no knowledge
who carry about their wooden idols,
and keep on praying to a god
that cannot save.
Declare and present your case;
let them take counsel together!
Who told this long ago?
Who declared it of old?
Was it not I, the L-RD?
And there is no other god besides me,
a righteous G-d and a Savior;
there is none besides me.
"Turn to me and be saved,
all the ends of the earth!
For I am G-d, and there is no other.
By myself I have sworn;
from my mouth has gone out in righteousness
a word that shall not return:
‘To me every knee shall bow,
every tongue shall swear allegiance.’
"Only in the L-RD, it shall be said of me,
are righteousness and strength;
to him shall come and be ashamed
all who were incensed against him.
In the L-RD all the offspring of Israel
shall be justified and shall glory."
1Cr 10:14-22 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Messiah? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Messiah?
For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?
What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to G-d; and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.
Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
Rom 1:13-25 Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.
I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.
So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Messiah: for it is the power of G-d unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
For therein is the righteousness of G-d revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
For the wrath of G-d is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of G-d is manifest in them; for G-d hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and G-dhead; so that they are without excuse:
Because that, when they knew G-d, they glorified him not as G-d, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible G-d into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore G-d also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of G-d into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
When man humbles himself so as to invade the space of the poor and afflicted, feigns to offer help and endures personal poverty with an eye single unto a future personal gain at the poor man’s further destitution rather than to possess his own reigns evermore as an humble example of an righteous individual sharing the common lot and burden as a proponent of the same- a neighbor, and brother of both the great and the small alike….But instead further defrauds by way and means of controlling how prosperous or not all may become through Gadianton device and declaration, he must be marked for the villain he is and his head crushed for the snake he has become, by the heel of the righteous man.
He invaded not to help the poor or aide the needy with any real intention to help them overcome their situation, but to keep them in it and profit thereby; to gain influence locally and abroad politically so as to reign in perversity and cover his intentions with feigned graces and unprofitable charity; gladly wearing the garb of a common labourer for a season or more, talking the same talk, and walking the same walk, but never really being the same mate or fellowman.
Are you being served?
Better is a man who invades so as to warn or even to shame by keeping separate from your company, avoiding your ways, so as to set an example of what it may take to overcome and save. Such a man would also be more reliable if you should ever really need help. It may not be the help you desire at the moment but that which will bring you to fulfillment if not exaltation divine.
The former would bow to the most powerful of monsters to gain whatever you may desire, just as he might bow before the most needy of miserables in hopes of gaining some advantage over either/or. Thus keeping himself employed unto himself, for himself and by himself at the cost of others.
Dependent upon delusion, offering a profusion; an over-abundance of things, coping mechanisms that cumber and do not relieve, all with gracious compliments and kindness at the same abounding rate; having always and forever the blackest of hearts and meanest of intents within his miserly soul.
Such are the aspirations and machinations of the Gadianton Legion, and such is our enemy.
Our responsibility to both he and G-d should, nevertheless, be to convert and to save the same, even if Civil War be the price of overcoming this Beast.
Better still, through peaceful and patient resolution to establish Zion of G-d in our hearts that the affect of our enemy may never gain a foothold, nor make us its servant of necessity and guileful amiability.
Psalm 84:5 Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the man whose strength is in You, in whose heart are the highways to Zion.
Wisdom is superior to folly.
I have also seen this example of wisdom under the sun, and it seemed great to me. There was a little city with few men in it, and a great king came against it and besieged it, building great siegeworks against it. But there was found in it a poor, wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city. Yet no one remembered that poor man. But I say that wisdom is better than might, though the poor man’s wisdom is despised and his words are not heard.
The words of the wise heard in quiet are better than the shouting of a ruler among fools. Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.
Be ye no man pleasers! Serve ye no man’s table!
Seek ye everyman his neighbor’s good but give ye the priority to the L-RD thy G-d in thy every action, thought and deed.
Col 3:22-25 Servants, obey in all things [your] masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:
And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.
Act 6:2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples [unto them], and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.
Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.
